We love the earthy, innovative styles of Cecelia Designs Jewelry! Owner and creator, Kaitlyn Cecelia Stock uses her background in design to create beautiful pieces that truly stand out. She left her “9-5” career path to pursue jewelry making in her small hometown of Fergus Falls, MN, and we’re glad she did! What’s the latest thing you’ve been working on?
I have just designed and created a chakra necklace collection that I am super excited about! I work on the go, and am always coming up with new collections. I have a feeling the chakra collection will be around for a while and available at the Gift & Art Expo.
What was your first memory of making something?
I was 8 years old when I started making jewelry and went to college for interior design. I had no idea I would be doing this out of school, but absolutely love it!
How does the city you live in influence your work?
I live in the small town of Fergus Falls, MN, where the community is very supportive of what I do. I have my jewelry in a very cute gift shop in town. They are awesome to work with!
What are some other inspirations for your work?
Spirituality is my latest inspiration. Before that, I would have to say functionality, the use of color and being fit for all shapes and sizes.
What motivates you to create?
Every day I have a spark inside me that calls me out of bed. There isn’t a day that goes by where I am not creating. Whether I am making jewelry, designing a retail display, my logo, packaging etc.
What are some tips or suggestions you’d like to offer to fellow makers?
It is so much more than just being creative. I always like to ask myself, “how can I leave this place a little better than how I found it?” I am just starting to get to this idea with my chakra jewelry collection, but I would encourage other artists to ask themselves the same question.
