Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Jennifer Manning and I love to make wire wrapped gemstone pendants that my customers love to wear!
Where did your business name come from? Is there an interesting story behind it?
I used to hand weave mohair scarves, shawls, and throws on my floor loom. Thus, the name Warm Fuzzies. Thinking about names for my new passion, I decided Warm Fuzzies still works even though my work is now stone cold. My pendants give their wearers warm fuzzies every time they wear them.
Is this a full-time business for you?
It was much more than full-time for the first two years. I have fine-tuned my display, found events catering to the demographic buyers of my product, and built up a following. This year I cut the number of events I do in half to give life balance, allowing me time with my husband and three Great Danes.
What are some inspirations for your work?
The stones are the primary inspiration for each pendant. It is so hard to choose which stones to wrap next! They all speak to me. And I listen to how they want to be wrapped.
What has been your favorite moment since creating your art/business?
Every day brings me joy… from procuring the wonderful wide variety of cabochons, raw crystals, or tumbled stones - to intuitively wrapping the stones to simply compliment them. Oh, but the best thing is seeing the joy my creations bring to their new owners!
What is the latest thing you have been working on?
I’m starting to make pendants with multiple stones in one pendant. This can be a challenge when trying to keep the wraps simple and have the stones be the focal point.
What is your favorite item that you sell?
They are all unique one-of-a-kind pieces. If you ask me during an event which pendant is my favorite, I’ll tell you. But, fifteen minutes later, if someone asks, it will be a different one. I love them all!!!
What do your customers love most about your product(s)?
My style of wrapping, the diversity of shapes, orientation, sizes and stone types AND my affordable prices. People follow me from event to event to buy my work.
What will you be bringing to the Gift & Art Expo for attendees to purchase?
Over 1000Beautiful one-of-a-kind gemstone pendants using stones I wrapped in simple uni-sex designs that highlight the stone and that you don’t see anywhere else. If you don’t see your favorite gemstone on display, ask me if I have it in my backstock. Or contact me a week before the event and I’ll try to wrap a few of your favorites to have on hand for the expo.
